Why Your Donation Matters
One evening in San Jose, I met a young man sitting alone on concrete stairs. When I passed by, he didn't ask for money or food—he just asked for conversation. He hadn't talked to anyone in weeks; they would just walk by.
He shared how he'd been kicked out as a teenager by his mother who suffered from major depression. Now in his late twenties, he'd found himself trapped in a cycle of isolation. What struck me wasn't just his need for shelter or food, but his desperate need for human connection.
That conversation sparked our mission. Today, we help nearly 100 people monthly connect with essential services. Through our partnerships with local organizations, just $20 helps our volunteers connect 50 people with food, clothing, and or shelter. But more importantly, we provide what statistics can't measure—dignity and hope.
